Is Higher Education Worth the Price?

                                                

In today’s society high education can be worth it but it’s not necessarily worth the cost. Having a president who doesn’t care about his people, wars happening, inflation up, so many people getting detained by ICE, corruption, etc. This all factors out to why even go for a higher education when the world we live in is already expensive. Although it is many people’s goal to thrive in higher education and go into debt, to others it’s not. Some may receive help but not entirely everyone which is devastating because people want to achieve this goal.

I personally am striving to get a higher education because I see the potential in me. I want to become an elementary education teacher and be an impact for many students and show them that they are capable of becoming doctors, astronauts, firefighters, police, lawyers, ceo, president, etc. All my life, I played with my teddy bears and played being a teacher to them and once I finished high school, I knew being a teacher was my goal. Some people have a hard time dealing with which career they want to follow, this is why it is important to consider while in high school.

There are many reasons students don’t consider going for a higher education, like debt, some degrees don’t give jobs, not always a good investment, pressure, undecided path. These factors could make a student either drop out or suffer from mental health. College is not for everyone and that is okay. Some students don’t have enough to pay tuition and although there are scholarships, it is not always granted to everyone. FAFSA is another useful resource but only for low income students. Having to work full time but also do your classes is hard, you have to learn to manage your time and not waste any opportunity.

The reasons why college is good to join and you should consider is because depending on what you are studying, you are secured with a job forever. You will need to seek a job but you will be classified and qualified quickly since you have a degree. College helps a person grow socially, emotionally, and mentally. College helps you build a strong network connection with peers and professors which is an awesome idea in case for future needs. 

College can offer many opportunities and help, such as a better job, internships, scholarships, and growth. However, not everyone is ready for the obstacles that you might encounter, the pressure from your parents, tuition cost, mental health issues. Not every student lives the same situation but everyone lives a whole lot of assignments and presentations. You have to be capable of completing everything , sometimes winning and sometimes losing as well. Your college life will not be linear at all. Some semesters you might feel down and will pass with C’s and the next semester you may be great, and have all A’s. In today’s world, with everything going on in the news, college sometimes doesn’t feel like the road to success. You have considered every information given and if college fits in your shoes, then go ahead.
